PVC fencing is continuing to become a recognised superior alternative to timber fencing, mainly due to the fact it retains its clean, fresh look for so many years.

It seems such a simple option with so many benefits. Too often we see elegantly constructed timber fences only a few years old, warped, twisted and in need of a good paint.

PVC does not twist or warp like natural products. Our posts are fixed into the ground 600mm deep and set in concrete, any gate supporting posts have a steel sleeve insert and are filled with concrete. So strong and robust. The rest is simple, deep rebates, no fixings and a crisp, clean fence with easy maintenance going forward. No painting required ever, just a quick hose down every few months. No mildew, no rust, no staining, no twisting, no cracks… The benefits are obvious!!

So what is PVC? Polyvinyl Chloride ( PVC ) is the third most widely produced synthetic polymer. It is formed using three basic raw materials of crude oil, natural gas and chloride. The chemical process links chloride monomers together to form chains called polymers. To form vinyl compound PVC resin is then combined with UV inhibitors, impact modifiers, stabilizers and toners. So after all that technical stuff, what are the benefits? Firstly, with fencing in PVC it looks so smart. Produced with a slight sheen, PVC fences always have that clean, fresh look. They are so easy to clean and because no painting is required they are virtually maintenance free. Whilst the comparative solution of timber fencing looks great when new, due to its natural origin it will always continue to move, contract and expand, PVC doesn’t have that downfall. Surprisingly, PVC in fencing is not a new thing, it’s been around for many years and has been used in areas of extreme weather including in the icy conditions of North America and in the heat of Western Australia. It is hardly a wonder that this exciting product is gaining momentum as a superior alternative to timber.
